In Bosnia in 1995 seven days after the Dayton Agreement was signed, a small army engineering squad sweeps the mines in the mountains.  In a nearby factory destroyed during the war, they find a cellar with doors bricked in and a man inside the cellar sitting behind a desk with an ashtray filled with cigarette butts but no food, no water and no light.  It is as if the man was waiting for them.

The powerful cinematography makes full use of the bleak but beautiful open landscapes and decrepit buildings, alternating the loneliness and claustrophobia of the army squad predicament.  Surrounded by minefields and increasingly strange events, the squad’s uncertainty about the strange man takes them closer to the edge.
